The Story Of Mr. FIIKS
Once upon a time on a forum far away, someone took a shine to an alien smiley, deciding that he was cute and that he should be named and become a mascot for RSD/CRPS sufferers.

Around the same time, someone had a bit of a rant, saying that they were sick of people, including doctors not knowing what RSD/CRPS was and often confusing RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) with RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury). It progressed along the lines that there are that many different names for Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (around 25 different names) that it got confusing, so it was no wonder no one knew what it was or that so many people were getting diagnosed with multiple names of the condition as if each name was a separate condition ('yes Mr. Jones, we know that you have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, but you also have Causalgia'). Someone then suggested it should be renamed 'F**ked If I Know Syndrome' or FIIKS for short, because of the amount of different names it has and because it is so difficult to diagnose.

When names were suggested for the alien mascot, Mr. FIIKS was the unanimous decision and from that moment, Mr. FIIKS was our little mascot.
